Dr. Sara Elliott

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Sara Elliott is as much a Hampton Roads local as one can get coming from a Navy family. She grew up in Virginia Beach surrounded by a household full of pets, even trying to sneak in more from what she could catch outside. This includes creatures she would find in the woods and farmlands of the Finger Lakes region of New York, where her family originates. She graduated from Salem High school, only to move on to Old Dominion University for her undergraduate studies. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM), where her lifelong love of Virginia Tech also began (let's go HOKIES)!

Dr. Elliott has a special interest in preventative medicine and geriatric care, striving to catch early signs of disease and ensure pets enjoy the longest, healthiest lives possible. This has led to an appreciation for managing complex cases that require both patience and a personalized approach. Specific areas of interest include gastrointestinal disorders, dermatology and dentistry. And while she treats both dogs and cats, she has a special place in her heart for senior cats in particular, cherishing their unique personalities and quirks.

When not at work, Dr. Elliott enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Mike, a Virginia Beach paramedic, and their young sons, Connor and Adam. She is especially proud of their shared love of nature and animals. In addition to her humans, Dr. Elliott also shares her home with an unruly and enthusiastic pitbull mix (Frank), two troublesome tuxedo cats (Mick and Kiefer), and a crested gecko that has no idea of the chaos that surrounds him (Wally). She obviously loves Hokies football, but she is also a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills and a fan of the New York Yankees by marriage. Dr. Elliott also enjoys reading, listening to audiobooks, horror movies, and anything to do with embarrassing her children.
